PAM committee

What are P.A.M.’s
P.A.M.’s (Professions Allied to Medicine) cover a wide group of non-medical professions, including Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Dieticians and other professionals associated with burn care.

What is the P.A.M. Committee
The P.A.M. Committee of the EBA consists of representatives from these non-medical groups. Members have been selected to represent a wide range of professions and interests: Rehabilitation, Nursing and Psycho-social issues.

The chairperson of the P.A.M. Committee sits as a member of the executive committee of the EBA, in order to give feedback to, and receive feedback from the executive.

What are the tasks of the Committee

  • To promote communication to all members of the P.A.M. group regarding the activities of the EBA.
  • To encourage members of non-medical professions to play a more active part in the association
  • To promote the exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge between professions throughout Europe
  • To stimulate the exchange of personnel between units
  • To promote and assist with co-ordination of research programs Involvement in the organisation of scientific meetings,
    particularly specific P.A.M. sessions/teaching courses/workshop
  • To encourage P.A.M. members to submit abstracts for presentation at congresses.
  • Selection and judging of P.A.M. papers
  • Involvement in working party establishing standardisation of burn care throughout Europe
